Construction has started for the new Bass Pro Shops in Sayreville, marking a significant development in the area.

Leases are signed with Bass Pro Shops and QuickChek, and there’s even a third store planned. This will be the second Bass Pro Shops in New Jersey, and the only one north of Atlantic City.
Mark Fetah from Riverton shared that it’s going to be an amazing building, a real destination for visitors. The excitement is palpable as they push forward with this project.
At a recent Borough Council meeting, Mayor Kennedy O’Brien expressed his enthusiasm about the construction finally kicking off. He emphasized how long the community has waited for this moment.
O’Brien noted that the start of construction is a sign that all the hard work from Sayreville residents is paying off. They’re looking forward to a big celebration in the spring to mark this milestone.
The mayor also praised the Sayreville Economic and Redevelopment Agency for bringing in the right investments. He mentioned that they’re focused on projects that will benefit the town, creating jobs and keeping taxes stable.
In addition to the new store, O’Brien highlighted improvements to local parks and recreation. New walking paths and upgraded facilities are on the way, along with plans for new athletic fields.
