Billionaire Bill Ackman supports Whitney Tilson’s mayoral bid, aiming to revitalize NYC and avoid issues seen in other major cities.

Ackman shared his support on X, calling Tilson pro-business and anti-waste. He believes Tilson can really help the city bounce back. Ackman even hosted a fundraiser for him, showing he’s all in.
Tilson, 58, has been active in charity work and is on the board of KIPP Academy in the Bronx. He kicked off his campaign last November. Meanwhile, Adams is facing tough times with declining poll numbers and a federal corruption indictment.
Adams has pleaded not guilty to charges of illegal campaign donations and misusing city funds, with his trial set for April. He’s got a crowded field of challengers, including City Comptroller Brad Lander and former Comptroller Scott Stringer.
Interestingly, Ackman didn’t back Adams in the last election, choosing to support other candidates instead. It’ll be interesting to see how this all plays out!
