Join the fun at Bolton Museum for a film day featuring classic horror and expert talks

On Saturday, January 18th, from 1:30 to 6:30 PM, head over to the Basement Lecture Theatre at Bolton Library and Museum. The event is supported by the Bolton Archaeology and Egyptology Society, so you know it’s going to be good.
Tickets are £15 for members and £20 for non-members, and you can grab them online. Your ticket covers the talk, film, food, and drinks.
This year’s film is the 1932 version of “The Mummy,” starring Boris Karloff and Zita Johann. Plus, Prof Joann Fletcher will give a talk on “The History of Mummy Horror” to go along with the screening.
Ian Trumble, Chair of Bolton Archaeology and Egyptology Society, shared that these film days are always a hit. They mix great Egyptian-themed films with insightful talks from experts like Prof Fletcher.
This is the first time the event is being held at Bolton Museum, and it’s also the first collaboration with the Bolton Archaeology and Egyptology Society. How cool is that?
And here’s the best part: all proceeds will support excavations in Egypt and help Egyptian archaeologists.
Here’s what the day looks like:
– 1:30 PM: Doors open
– 2:00 PM: Talk by Prof Joann Fletcher
– 2:45 PM: Buffet Lunch
– 3:45 PM: Film Screening of “The Mummy”
– 5:00 PM: Raffle
– 5:30 PM: Drinks in the Egypt Galleries
