Country music star Carrie Underwood is set to sing “America the Beautiful” right before Trump takes the oath. Other performers include Lee Greenwood and opera singer Christopher Macchio, who are favorites of the president-elect.

Underwood, who became famous on “American Idol,” will perform at the U.S. Capitol. The festivities kick off this weekend with a fireworks show at Trump’s golf club in Sterling, Virginia, along with a rally in D.C. and visits to Arlington National Cemetery.

This inauguration is expected to feel different from the last one. Trump didn’t attend Biden’s inauguration in 2021, and there were still signs of the January 6 Capitol riot.

The schedule includes a reception and fireworks at Trump National Golf Club, a wreath-laying ceremony, and a “MAGA Victory” rally at Capital One Arena. On Inauguration Day, there will be tea at the White House, the swearing-in ceremony, a congressional luncheon, a parade, and several balls.

Melania Trump will join the tea with the Bidens this time, which she skipped last time. Trump’s first full day as president will start with a National Prayer Service.

Greenwood will perform as Trump walks out to take the oath, and Macchio will sing the National Anthem at the end. Macchio has performed at various Trump events, including the Republican National Convention.

Back in 2017, Trump’s first inauguration featured acts like the Rockettes and Jackie Evancho, so it’ll be interesting to see how this one compares!
