Chelsea’s Enzo Maresca expressed surprise at Jadon Sancho’s impressive performance on loan from Manchester United this season

London: So, Enzo Maresca, Chelsea’s head coach, is pretty impressed with Jadon Sancho. He said he’s “quite surprised” by how consistent Sancho has been this season.
Sancho joined Chelsea on loan from Manchester United just before the transfer window closed last summer. The deal includes an obligation for Chelsea to buy him next summer.
At first, things were a bit rocky for Sancho at Stamford Bridge due to some health issues. But lately, he’s really stepped up, starting five out of the last six Premier League games, scoring once and assisting another goal.
Overall, he’s played 16 times for Chelsea, netting two goals and providing six assists. Six of those contributions came in just 14 league matches, which is pretty solid.
Sancho came to Chelsea hoping to revive his career, and it seems like he’s doing even better than Maresca expected. The coach said, “For me he’s doing very well.”
Maresca added that he knew what to expect from Sancho but is pleasantly surprised by his consistency. He mentioned that aside from a brief illness, Sancho has been performing well for a while now.
He concluded by saying that while it’s tough for players to maintain good form over time, Sancho has been doing just that. Now, he just needs to keep it up!
