A new Culinary Health Center in Las Vegas will hire 200 staff, providing essential health services to union members and their families.

The new Culinary Health Center – Tropicana is set to open at 4805 W. Tropicana Ave. It’s designed for all members of Culinary Local 226 and Bartenders Local 165.
Ted Pappageorge, the union’s secretary and treasurer, shared his excitement at the groundbreaking. He called it a “one-stop shop” for health care, emphasizing how it’s an investment in the future of health care in Southern Nevada.
The center is expected to cost between $90 million and $100 million, funded through union contracts with various companies. It’s slated to open in 2026.
Pappageorge explained that these contracts ensure companies cover top-notch health care through the Culinary Health Plan, managed by the Culinary Health Fund.
Spanning 96,800 square feet over two stories, the center will feature 43 primary care rooms, three mental health counseling rooms, and 15 dental care rooms. Plus, there will be physical therapy rooms, acupuncture, chiropractic services, and a drive-through pharmacy.
Wellness classes will also be available, covering topics like diabetes management, high blood pressure, and breastfeeding.
The center will create around 200 jobs, including positions for doctors, dentists, pharmacists, nurses, and medical assistants. It’s partnering with several medical organizations to provide comprehensive care.
This new location is the closest health center to the Strip, where about 32,000 Culinary members reside. There are two other centers on Nellis Boulevard and Durango Drive, with another opening on Craig Road in April.
With around 60,000 union members and 120,000 to 130,000 family members, this initiative will greatly benefit the community.
