Rochester: The second federal holiday of 2025 is just around the corner. You might be curious about when all 11 federal holidays are happening this year and how they affect you.

So, here’s the scoop. After New Year’s Day, there are 10 more federal holidays in 2025. Here’s a quick list of when they are:

– Martin Luther King Jr. Day: Monday, Jan. 20
– Presidents’ Day: Monday, Feb. 17
– Memorial Day: Monday, May 26
– Juneteenth: Thursday, June 19
– Independence Day: Friday, July 4
– Labor Day: Monday, Sept. 1
– Columbus Day: Monday, Oct. 13
– Veterans Day: Tuesday, Nov. 11
– Thanksgiving Day: Thursday, Nov. 27
– Christmas Day: Thursday, Dec. 25

In years when a new president is inaugurated, federal workers in D.C. usually get 12 holidays. But since Inauguration Day and Martin Luther King Jr. Day fall on the same date in 2025, they’ll have one less holiday this year.

Now, you might be wondering if banks are open on these holidays. Generally, banks close on federal holidays, following the Federal Reserve’s schedule. Online transactions usually don’t go through either, but ATMs are often available if you need cash.

As for mail delivery, the Post Office is closed on federal holidays and doesn’t deliver regular mail. However, they do deliver Priority Mail Express items. You can still order stamps and print shipping labels online during these holidays.
