Jacob R. Gutierrez, 35, was found guilty of multiple counts of sexual assault against a young girl.

Elgin: A 35-year-old man named Jacob R. Gutierrez has been convicted of sexually assaulting a girl under 13. He was found guilty of four counts of predatory criminal sexual assault and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. This all happened after the victim told an adult, who then reported it to the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
Gutierrez could face a hefty prison sentence, ranging from six to 60 years for each assault count and three to 14 years for the abuse charges. Plus, he’ll have to register as a sex offender for life. His next court date is set for February 28, and he’s currently in the Kane County jail.
The Assistant State’s Attorney, Stacey Wittman, praised the victim for her bravery. She said the girl trusted adults to help her and even testified against Gutierrez in court. It’s a tough situation, but the courage shown is commendable.
