Englewood: So, there’s been some updates on that armed robbery case from last August. The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office just announced that the suspects are facing more charges.

It all went down on August 3 when some masked guys with guns targeted diners outside a restaurant. They were reportedly pretty aggressive, stealing jewelry and other stuff from the victims. They even tried to grab car keys from the valet area.

Fast forward to mid-December, and four suspects were arrested. They include Altamir L. Thornton, Yashir T. Phillips, Rahiem A. Maldonado, and a 17-year-old. Recently, Maldonado got hit with new charges for running from the cops before his arrest.

When they searched the car he was in, they found a handgun with a large magazine and hollow point bullets. The driver, Farha F. Sharif, initially got away but was later caught after trying to jump a fence. She’s now facing charges too.

Maldonado’s in a bit of trouble as well, with charges for possession of a gun and resisting arrest. He’s still in jail waiting for his trial. The other adult suspects are facing similar charges, and Thornton has some extra ones for using a minor in the crime.

The 17-year-old involved is also looking at serious charges, including armed robbery and aggravated assault. There’s still a second juvenile who’s wanted in connection with the robbery, but they haven’t found them yet.
