Middletown High School’s marching band is thrilled to perform at the Presidential Inauguration, marking a memorable milestone for the students.

Nathan Bennett, a junior, shared how thrilled he is. He said, “We get to show the world what Middletown High School’s marching band is all about.” It’s a huge deal for them, and they’re all set to make a splash in D.C.
They’ll be marching and playing two songs, which is a bit different from their usual routine. Kayla Wandsnider, the cheerleading advisor, mentioned that they’re working hard to adjust to the new format.
This opportunity came thanks to a special invite from Vice President-elect J.D. Vance, who hails from Middletown. For the students, this is a moment they’ll cherish forever.
Bennett was so excited he almost fell to his knees when he heard the news. He called his mom right away, even though she had some concerns about safety. But he was determined to go!
The community is rallying together, raising over $170,000 to fund the trip. Nearly 160 people, including band members and cheerleaders, will head to Washington, D.C. by bus early Sunday morning and return on Tuesday. What an adventure!
