Two Canadian families report being forced to sign NDAs to receive medical assistance at a Cancun resort

Allison Field shared her experience, saying it felt like they were being held hostage. Her son was really sick, and she felt the resort was blocking them from getting care.
Jesslyn Schigol, traveling with her family, had a similar ordeal. Her husband was vomiting non-stop, and when she asked for help, the front desk handed her an NDA. They insisted she sign it before a doctor would come.
She refused, knowing the NDA would prevent them from speaking out about their experience. Schigol even took a photo of the document.
Allison’s family also got sick during their stay. She decided to leave the resort and take her son to the hospital because he was in bad shape. Resort staff didn’t help her with her bags or getting a taxi, and they kept pushing her to sign the NDA.
She was really upset, feeling like the resort didn’t care about their health. Her son ended up in the hospital for dehydration.
Both moms refused to sign the NDAs and have connected with others who got sick at the same time. The resort’s parent company, Blue Diamond Resorts, is now looking into the situation, promising to handle it carefully. They claim to follow strict health standards.
