A federal judge has allowed the release of a report on Trump’s election interference case, following a ruling against his former co-defendants.

The judge denied their request, which means the report could be out as soon as midnight. The co-defendants, Walt Nauta and Carlos De Oliveira, are in hot water for allegedly helping Trump hide sensitive documents at his Mar-a-Lago resort.
Cannon also mentioned that there will be a hearing on January 17 to discuss whether part of the report can be made public. She pointed out that the 2020 election case is separate from the classified documents case involving Nauta and De Oliveira.
She noted that everyone seems to agree that releasing Volume II of the report could interfere with the fair trial rights of the defendants and goes against the Justice Department’s rules on sharing information during ongoing criminal cases.
