A recent poll shows many Gen Z individuals struggle with basic DIY tasks, like changing lightbulbs, preferring to hire help instead.

New York: It turns out Gen Z might not be the handiest bunch. A recent survey revealed that many of them can’t even change a lightbulb. Crazy, right?
According to the report, about 25% of Gen Zers don’t know how to change a ceiling lamp bulb. Some even think climbing a ladder is too risky. Can you believe that?
Andy Turbefield from Halfords pointed out that younger folks are losing basic skills. They’d rather pay someone else to do simple tasks. It’s a bit wild!
Instead of tackling DIY projects, they prefer to “Get Others To Do It.” This trend has led to them spending over $1,500 a year on hiring help for chores.
In comparison, Gen Xers spend around $470, and boomers only about $300. So, it seems like Gen Z is really leaning on others for even the simplest jobs.
And it’s not just lightbulbs. Many of them don’t know how to clean a car or even add air to a tire. Some would rather ask their parents for help!
Shockingly, 30% of them can’t even identify a flathead screwdriver. It’s a little concerning, don’t you think?
With this trend, it looks like the “GOTDIT” generation is here to stay, but it raises questions about their self-sufficiency.
