Aaron Glenn, a top candidate for the Jets head coach, insists he’s more than just a defensive coach, showcasing his all-around coaching skills.

During a recent press conference, he said, “I’m a coach, I just happen to be on defense.” He’s confident he can handle offense just as well. After years of missing the playoffs, the Jets need someone who can manage all aspects of the game.
Glenn’s got a solid background. He’s played, scouted, and coached, learning from big names like Bill Parcells and Sean Payton. He’s helped build a strong culture with the Lions, and that’s something the Jets could really use.
He interviewed for the Jets job on January 9, and he’s one of ten candidates. Other interviews are happening soon, but Glenn is definitely a favorite. He helped the Lions achieve a great record this season, even with injuries.
Interestingly, Glenn was drafted by the Jets back in 1994 and had a successful playing career. His coaching journey is unique, starting as a scout for the Jets before moving up the ranks.
He’s expressed that the Jets are his top choice, but other teams are interested too. The Jets are looking for a fresh start after a tough season, and they can’t talk to Glenn again until the Lions’ season ends.
Glenn is all about being himself in interviews. He’s not worried about fitting into a mold. He’s got a good gig now, but if the Jets offer him the right opportunity, he’ll consider it.
Interestingly, the Patriots wanted to interview him too, but he turned them down. He felt it wasn’t the right fit for him. It’s clear Glenn knows what he wants and is ready to make a move if it feels right.
