Sykes Holiday Cottages seeks a Short Break Tester to explore UK destinations and share experiences

In exchange, they’ll need to share their thoughts on the trips. The company will set up four two-night stays, complete with custom itineraries. Plus, the winner will snag a holiday voucher worth over £7,000 to book even more trips.
If you’re into staycations, you can apply by sending a 200-word cover letter through the Sykes website, explaining why you’d be perfect for the role. The deadline for applications is February 17, 2025.
James Shaw, the managing director, mentioned that this role is a fantastic chance for anyone who loves exploring the UK. One winner will embark on an amazing journey to some of the most sought-after weekend destinations and share what makes them special.
Sykes hopes this initiative will encourage more folks to enjoy holidays right here at home. A recent survey of 2,000 UK adults found that York is the top spot for a weekend getaway, followed closely by Edinburgh and Bath.
Other popular places include the Isle of Skye and Brighton, with Windermere, Whitby, and Cambridge also on the list. Interestingly, over half of Brits believe they can get that holiday vibe on a short break in the UK, and many think a warm UK summer getaway is just as fun as going abroad.
When it comes to activities, dining at local restaurants, exploring nearby towns, and visiting historical sites are the top picks for short break travelers. Mr. Shaw added that staycations mix relaxation with adventure perfectly, allowing people to discover new places without the stress of long trips. Whether it’s enjoying local food or diving into the UK’s rich history, there’s something for everyone.
