Kamala Harris feels let down by Biden’s recent comments about the 2024 election, straining their relationship
Washington: So, it turns out Kamala Harris is feeling pretty upset with President Biden. She’s been telling her close friends that she didn’t appreciate his recent comments about the 2024 election. Biden said he could have beaten Trump if he had the chance, and that didn’t sit well with her.
This whole thing has reportedly put a strain on their relationship as they wrap up their time in office. According to a Wall Street Journal report, Harris’s allies think Biden’s comments show a lack of loyalty. They feel like she’s been stuck in a position where she can’t really criticize him.
One former Biden official even shrugged it off, saying, “Who cares? She is done.” Ouch! It seems like there’s been some noticeable tension lately, especially between Harris and Jill Biden. At a recent event, the Bidens didn’t even acknowledge her when they arrived.
Things got even more awkward at Jimmy Carter’s funeral, where Jill Biden didn’t even look at Harris or her husband, Doug Emhoff. CNN’s Jake Tapper pointed out the chilly vibes, but hey, it was a funeral, so maybe that’s understandable.
Harris was there for Biden’s farewell address, sitting between her husband and the first lady. Biden’s comments about winning against Trump were based on polling, but it’s a bit ironic since Harris lost to Trump in the Electoral College back in 2020.
Now, with Biden stepping back from the 2024 race, it’s also causing some friction between Jill Biden and Nancy Pelosi. Jill expressed her disappointment over Pelosi pushing Biden to drop his campaign, despite their long friendship.
After Monday, Harris will be out of public office for the first time in over 20 years. She’s planning to spend time in California and New York while she thinks about her political future, which could include a run for governor in 2026 or even a presidential bid in 2028.
As of now, spokespeople for both Biden and Harris haven’t commented on the situation.
