Kasey Noel, daughter of a former sheriff, pleads guilty and faces prison time for theft and tax evasion charges in Indiana

Washington County: Kasey Noel, the daughter of ex-Clark County Sheriff Jamey Noel, is heading to prison for nine months. She pleaded guilty to nine felony charges on Monday.
She was facing five theft counts and four tax evasion charges since last April. Judge Larry Medlock sentenced her to 60 months, but 51 of those months are suspended for probation. After the hearing, she was set to be booked in Harrison County Jail.
On top of her prison time, Kasey has to pay over $100,000 in restitution to New Chapel EMS and more than $5,000 to the Indiana Department of Revenue.
According to an Indiana State Police investigation, Kasey allegedly spent over $100,000 on a business credit card linked to New Chapel EMS, which her dad used to oversee. The investigation also revealed her mom, Misty Noel, made over $600,000 in purchases on that card, while her dad racked up more than $2 million from 2019 to 2023.
By changing her plea, Kasey avoids a jury trial that was set for February 3. Meanwhile, Misty Noel is trying to delay her own trial on similar charges.
In a related case, Jamey Noel was sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to 27 felony charges. He was also ordered to pay hefty fines and restitution totaling over $3 million.
