Kate Middleton emotionally thanked the Royal Marsden staff for their care during her cancer treatment last year in a heartfelt visit.

During her visit, she chatted with doctors, nurses, and patients, making it her first major solo engagement in over a year. She mentioned how nice it was to be there, especially after so many private visits.
Kate even took the time to sit down with a woman undergoing chemotherapy, asking her about her treatment experience. Interestingly, it hadn’t been publicly known that she had received treatment at the Royal Marsden, which is just a short drive from Kensington Palace.
A spokesperson from Kensington Palace shared that Kate wanted to show her appreciation for the incredible team and highlight the top-notch care the hospital provides.
In addition to her visit, it was announced that she has been appointed as the royal patron of The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, following in the footsteps of her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.
Kate initially went to the London Clinic for planned abdominal surgery in January 2024, but after her treatment, there was an incident involving a breach of her medical records, leading to an investigation.
Looking ahead, sources say she will take on fewer public duties as she continues her recovery, and her schedule won’t include any major foreign tours for now. It seems she’s easing back into her role at her own pace.
