Los Angeles: The home where Robby Krieger of The Doors wrote “Light My Fire” has been destroyed by the Palisades Fire. This was the place where he crafted those iconic lyrics back in 1966.

The property, owned by Claudio and Kathleen Boltiansky since 2000, was one of over 5,000 structures lost in this fierce wildfire. The couple expressed their heartbreak over the loss, not just of their home but of their entire community.

Kathleen shared her feelings, saying, “It’s never going to be the same.” Despite the devastation, they plan to rebuild, hoping to make it their forever home. Claudio emphasized that the spirit of the community is what truly matters, not just the buildings.

He also pointed out a common misconception about their neighborhood, clarifying that it’s not just a wealthy enclave like Beverly Hills. Before the 2000s, Pacific Palisades was quite affordable, just like other parts of LA.

“Light My Fire” was a huge hit when it was released in 1967, topping the Billboard charts and becoming a defining song of the psychedelic rock era. It’s a real loss for music history and the community.
