Gaylord: Northern Michigan is in for a snowy week. The National Weather Service says some areas could see up to 8 inches of snow by Tuesday. That’s a lot of snow!

They mentioned that lake effect snow will keep coming down today and tonight. Around Gaylord, expect an extra 3 to 6 inches, maybe even more.

A winter weather advisory is in place from the Mackinac Bridge down to Gaylord and over to Rogers City. Basically, all of northern Michigan is under a hazardous weather advisory.

So, if you’re out and about, be ready for snow showers today. The NWS warns that snow-covered roads and gusty winds could make travel tricky.

By Monday afternoon, temps are expected to drop to 16 degrees, with winds picking up to 30 mph. And don’t forget about the wind chill—it could feel like 5 below zero tonight.

Over in west Michigan, they’re also under a winter weather advisory until Wednesday morning. Snow showers are expected to stick around, with winds hitting 25 mph and highs in the low 20s.

In Lansing, they’re looking at snow showers and lows around 10 degrees tonight. Wind gusts could reach 23 mph, so bundle up!

Detroit and southeast Michigan will see scattered snow showers after 1 p.m. today. Winds might not be as strong, but they could still hit 24 mph.

In the Upper Peninsula, the Marquette office says isolated snow showers are likely, with highs only reaching about 18 degrees. Wind chills could drop to zero.

In Sault Ste. Marie, they’re expecting 2 to 6 inches of lake effect snow, so keep an eye on the weather!
