Paul Di Guglielmo’s love for the Orlando Magic began in the ’90s and continues to thrive despite the distance from Australia

At 44, he’s been following the Magic since he was a kid. His wife’s family is in San Francisco, so whenever they visit, he makes it a point to catch a game. But planning a trip from Australia to Florida isn’t easy, especially with the Magic’s injury woes lately.
He was worried about star players like Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner being out. But when he finally got to see the game, it was a nail-biter! The Magic pulled off a win, and he was thrilled.
So, how did he become a Magic fan? Well, it all started in the ’90s when he was just a kid. Everyone was into teams like the Bulls and Lakers, but he liked the Magic’s cool black and white uniforms. Plus, they drafted Shaquille O’Neal, which was a big deal back then.
Even though being a Magic fan from Australia has its challenges, he’s stuck with them through thick and thin. He’s got a soft spot for players like Bo Outlaw and Tracy McGrady. Now, he’s excited about the young talent on the team, especially Banchero, who he thinks is incredible.
He even had a memorable moment when Wagner hit a game-winning shot against the Lakers. He was the only Magic fan in his section, and he was cheering like crazy!
The Magic’s fanbase is growing, especially with international players joining the team. But Di Guglielmo has been a loyal fan long before that. It just shows how basketball can connect people from all over the world.
