Both Manchester clubs meet financial guidelines, avoiding new charges from the Premier League

The Times reported that every club has stuck to the Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSRs). However, Leicester City is still in a bit of hot water due to an ongoing legal issue. The league mentioned that they can’t comment much on Leicester’s situation since it’s tied up in confidential arbitration.
United has been tightening their belts for the past year under new ownership, so they’re probably feeling a weight lift off their shoulders. Meanwhile, City is still waiting to hear about their own financial hearing related to some serious breaches from 2008 to 2018.
It’s worth noting that PSRs are different from other regulations. Last season, Everton and Nottingham Forest faced point deductions for not following these rules. The current guidelines allow clubs to lose up to £105 million over three years, with the latest period ending in June 2024.
Certain expenses, like community investments and youth programs, don’t count against that total. So, it really comes down to wages and transfer spending.
