Malibu: Mel Gibson recently walked through the remains of his $14.5 million mansion, which was lost in the Palisades Fire. It was a tough sight for him.

He shared his feelings during an interview, saying, “It’s pretty well-burnt.” He found a safe but sadly, everything inside was gone. Luckily, his Oscars were safe since they weren’t in the house.

As he strolled through the charred yard, he pointed out where his guesthouse used to be. He even checked on his cars, which were completely destroyed. “Look what happens to the insides. Wow man, it’s gutted,” he remarked.

Despite the devastation, Gibson stayed positive. He mentioned feeling a sense of community with others who lost their homes. “I feel I belong to a large but elite group of people who lost homes,” he said.

He was recording a podcast when the fire broke out. When he returned, he found his home “perfectly burnt.” He joked about being relieved from the burden of his belongings, now reduced to ashes.

In a silver lining, he was happy to report that his chickens survived the fire. “We checked the chicken coop and they were fine,” he said. For now, he plans to stay at his vacation home in Costa Rica while he figures out what’s next.
