Recent court documents provide insights into the Howard Frankland stabbing involving ex-prosecutor Patrick Scruggs and the man he allegedly attacked.

A recent court filing sheds light on what happened that morning. Apparently, Scruggs might argue that the guy he stabbed, Blake Sharp, was acting suspiciously. Sharp was allegedly driving under the influence and had some outstanding warrants.
Scruggs, who’s 40, is facing serious charges, including aggravated battery. His lawyers are pushing for more info about Sharp, claiming he was trying to escape the scene and was intoxicated. Sharp, 36, is already in prison for a probation violation.
He testified that he wasn’t trying to flee when he crashed into Scruggs’ car. He insisted, “I would never flee the scene of an accident.” But things got wild when a couple driving by noticed Sharp slumped over in his car.
They called 911, and when Scruggs arrived, he found Sharp unresponsive. After trying to get him out, Scruggs ended up using a pocketknife to break the window. That’s when things escalated, and they started grappling.
In the chaos, Scruggs stabbed Sharp. A video of the incident went viral, showing Scruggs in casual clothes, knife in hand. When police arrived, they found Sharp bleeding and in pain.
Sharp later claimed he had a diabetic episode, but medical records showed his blood sugar was normal. He had previously worked as a confidential informant, which raised questions about his credibility.
Now, Scruggs is gearing up for trial in February. It’s a wild story, and it’ll be interesting to see how it all plays out.
