Denver: A Phoenix-based flight attendant, Celinda Levno, sadly passed away during a layover. The Association of Professional Flight Attendants shared the news on Sunday.

Levno, 71, died between Saturday night and Sunday morning. The AFPA described her death as a “senseless tragedy.” She had a long career, working for over 30 years with America West, which later became part of American Airlines.

Her friends and family remember her as a kind-hearted person, a talented musician, and a devoted animal lover. Josephine Dale, a close friend, expressed how Levno always put others first. She mentioned that Levno’s love for horses would live on through those who knew her.

Levno was also an enthusiastic flutist, as noted on her Facebook page. While the details surrounding her death remain unclear, American Airlines labeled it a “senseless crime” and confirmed that law enforcement is investigating.

The Denver Police Department hasn’t commented yet. American Airlines expressed their heartbreak over the loss and extended their support to Levno’s family and colleagues. They are also assisting law enforcement with the investigation.

AFPA mentioned that the crew traveling with Levno was moved to a hotel closer to the airport, even though the incident didn’t happen at their original downtown hotel. Levno is survived by her husband and sister, as shared by Dale on Facebook. More information is awaited.
