Rachel Maddow will return to MSNBC for five nights a week, starting January 20, covering Trump’s inauguration and more.

This new schedule is set to last until April 30. After that, she’ll go back to her usual Monday-only gig. Alex Wagner will take over the other nights, doing some on-the-road reporting during those first 100 days of the new administration.
Maddow had stepped back from her nightly show in 2022 to explore other projects, including some successful podcasts. But even with a lighter schedule, she’s still the star of MSNBC, pulling in around 2.5 million viewers on Mondays. That number jumps even higher when you count those who watch later.
She’ll also be the lead anchor for the inauguration coverage, starting at 10 a.m. Eastern on the big day. MSNBC has seen some ups and downs in viewership since Trump’s election, but they’re hoping to regain their audience as things heat up again. Last Monday, Maddow’s show saw a nice bump, with 1.6 million viewers, which is a 20 percent increase from the previous months.
