Ryanair is pushing for a two-drink limit at airport bars to improve safety for passengers and crews amid rising incidents of disruptive behavior.

Recently, they’ve even started legal action against passengers who cause trouble. They’re looking to recover losses from a flight that had to divert because of a passenger’s behavior.
They filed a case in Ireland, seeking 15,000 euros for the mess caused during a flight from Dublin to Lanzarote that had to land in Porto last year. The airline says the passenger’s actions were the reason for the diversion.
Ryanair’s spokesperson pointed out that European governments often don’t act when disruptive passengers threaten safety. They think it’s high time the EU stepped in to limit alcohol sales at airports.
While airlines like Ryanair already have rules about alcohol on flights, they see a problem with passengers drinking too much at the airport during delays. They suggest using boarding passes to limit drinks, similar to how duty-free sales are managed.
This two-drink limit idea isn’t new; Ryanair’s CEO, Michael O’Leary, first suggested it last August due to a rise in in-flight disruptions.
