A woman was duped into giving $850,000 to a scammer posing as Brad Pitt, believing he needed help.

Anne, a 53-year-old interior designer, believed the fake Pitt was in the hospital and needed money for kidney treatment. The scammer used AI-generated images to convince her.
They claimed Pitt couldn’t access his bank accounts due to his long divorce from Angelina Jolie, which just wrapped up in court.
The whole thing started when someone posing as Pitt’s mother reached out to Anne, saying her son needed someone like her. At first, she thought it was a joke.
But as she got more messages, including personal poems, she began to believe it was real. The emotional connection grew, and she fell for the scam.
In her desperation, Anne even divorced her husband, thinking she would be with Pitt one day. She only realized she was being scammed when she saw news about Pitt dating someone else.
Feeling betrayed, she wondered why they targeted her. After her story went public, she faced harassment online and has since struggled with severe depression, even needing hospitalization.
