Jason Oppenheim announced that filming for ‘Selling Sunset’ Season 9 is paused due to the ongoing fires in Los Angeles.

In a chat with Business Insider, he said they had started filming but had to stop due to the ongoing crisis. While Netflix hasn’t officially confirmed Season 9, some cast members hinted on social media that production was in the works.
These fires have been raging for almost a week, burning over 40,000 acres and sadly displacing many residents, with at least 24 lives lost. Oppenheim expressed uncertainty about how they might address the fires in the show.
He emphasized that their priority right now is to assist those affected. This includes a donation drive at their office and financial support for local police and fire departments. They’re also offering free legal representation for fire victims.
Over the weekend, he posted on Instagram that the Oppenheim Group would refund commissions from any deals involving fire victims. The destruction has been severe, with over 12,300 structures lost.
While some celebrities and agents from the Oppenheim Group have been impacted, he didn’t specify if any cast members were affected. The demand for housing has skyrocketed, with many looking to stay in their old neighborhoods.
Oppenheim pointed out that this has led to price gouging in areas like Santa Monica and Brentwood. He warned landlords that trying to take advantage of the situation could lead to legal trouble down the line.
He stressed that now is the time to help others rather than seek financial gain from this tragedy. It’s all about giving back during such tough times.
