Staten Island: A woman wanted for fatally stabbing a mother during a wild brawl has turned herself in. Jasmin Thompson showed up at the police station with her lawyer, saying she acted in self-defense.

The whole mess started over a social media spat involving the victim’s daughter. Things escalated quickly when about 20 girls confronted the young girl. Friends ran to get her older sister, and that’s when Jennira Roundtree, the mother, rushed outside to help.

Tragically, she was stabbed in the chaos. Medics took her to the hospital, but sadly, she didn’t make it. The police quickly identified Thompson as the suspect and released her photo. She has a history of arrests, but we don’t know the details yet.

Thompson’s lawyer insists she was just defending herself. A family member of Roundtree said she was only trying to protect her daughter from a group of girls. It’s heartbreaking to think that a mother lost her life just trying to keep her child safe.

In the days leading up to her death, Roundtree had been involved in her own social media drama. She even posted some tough messages online, but her family believes that was unrelated to the fight that led to her death. It’s a tragic situation all around.
