A Tren de Aragua gang member was arrested multiple times before a violent incident in Aurora, raising concerns about law enforcement failures.

Aurora: A member of the Tren de Aragua gang, Niefred Serpa-Acosta, was arrested and released four times before causing chaos in the city. This guy, just 20 years old, was caught on camera breaking into an apartment with his gang. It all went down just weeks after he was let go by ICE, even though he had a deportation order.
Recently, he and eight other gang members were charged with kidnapping and torturing a couple in an Aurora apartment complex. Can you believe it? Acosta even tried to disguise himself in drag to avoid getting caught. But the cops found him anyway, wearing a wig and a women’s hat.
These gang members are facing serious charges, including kidnapping and robbery. Three of them are still on the run. The whole mess started back in December 2022 when Acosta crossed the border illegally into Texas. He agreed to be deported but somehow ended up free in the U.S.
His first arrest came in June 2023 for theft, but he was released again. Then, he got arrested a second time in Fort Collins in April 2024, and once more in Castle Rock for resisting arrest. After that, ICE finally took him into custody, and he admitted to being part of Tren de Aragua.
Despite a judge ordering his deportation, ICE let him go in July 2024. Just a month later, he was seen in a viral video breaking into an apartment in Aurora, leading to a deadly shooting. Then, in December, he was arrested again while dressed as a woman, linked to the kidnapping and torture of two residents.
Now, Acosta is back in ICE custody, but the damage is done. The violence in Aurora has led to a judge ordering the shutdown of the apartment complex where it all happened, calling it a threat to public safety.
