Boston: So, Trooper Michael Proctor is in some hot water. He’s the lead investigator in the Karen Read case, and now he’s got to face a state police trial board. This is all about some serious allegations of misconduct while he was on the job.

He’s been suspended without pay since this summer after a mistrial in the Read case. Proctor was the one looking into the death of Read’s boyfriend, John O’Keefe, who was a Boston police officer.

Things got messy when it came out that he sent some pretty nasty texts about Read. He even read them out loud in court, which didn’t help his case at all. He admitted those texts were “unprofessional,” and let’s just say, they weren’t kind.

The trial board meeting is closed to the public, so we won’t get to hear what goes down. If they decide to discipline him, it’ll go up the chain to the state police colonel for a final call. Meanwhile, Judge Beverly Cannone has pushed back Read’s second trial to April 2025.

Stay tuned for updates on this situation, as it’s definitely one to watch!
