Columbians can vote for mayor and school board members on April 8. Here’s how to register and vote absentee.

There are two City Council seats up for grabs in Ward 3 and Ward 4, plus two spots on the Columbia Public School board. If you want to vote, make sure you register by March 12. Absentee voting kicks off at the end of February, so keep that in mind!
Wondering if you’re registered? You can check your status online at the Missouri Secretary of State’s website. If you need to register, you can do it by mail, in person, or online. Just remember, you need to be at least 17 and a half, a U.S. citizen, and a Missouri resident.
For absentee voting, you can cast your ballot in person at the Boone County Government Center from February 25 to April 7. If you’re voting absentee by mail, make sure to request your ballot by March 26. And don’t forget, your completed ballot needs to be back in the clerk’s office by 7 p.m. on April 8.
You can request an absentee ballot for several reasons, like being out of town on Election Day or having a health issue. From March 25 to April 7, you can vote absentee in person without needing to give a reason.
Mark your calendars for these important dates: March 12 is the last day to register, March 25 is when no-excuse absentee voting starts, and April 8 is the big election day. If you want more details, check out the Missouri Secretary of State’s website for the full election calendar and other resources.
